Special thanks to Mr. Frank-Lehrer and Ms. Kashima for this fascinating piece of photojournalism. Perhaps the West Coast is no longer "a sad land hopelessly devoid of all Midwestern caffeinated products," as previously reported in the Post back in August of 1947.
