Regular Yuba Post contributor Jeff Richardson has confessed to writing the now infamous July 31st column. He also admitted that the Rapid City ninjas - whom Richardson blamed for the post - do not, in fact, exist at all. They were fabricated by him in an attempt to frame the column on another party.
In a statement to the press, Richardson stated: "Hello, press. I would appreciate it if you would tell the Yuba public how sorry I am for what I did. Tell them it was a big mistake and that I'll never betray their trust again. But please leave out the part about me crying and begging for my job. Also, you know, you don't really have to report this at all... you know?"
Richardson also revealed that frequent Yuba Post guest columnist M. Ryan Kundinger was in on the scam. Dinger posted about the Rapid City ninjas last Monday, and he was also on the two-man task force - along with Richardson - responsible for assigning blame to the ninjas.
Said Kundinger of Richardson's revelation, "Stop snitchin'."
At press time, the Yuba sheriff's office was still unsure whether or not Richardson and Dinger's actions constitute a violation of the law, though a response from the Law and Order message board is expected within the next 24 hours.
The good people of Yuba can rest assured that the Yuba Post had no prior knowledge of the fraud being perpetuated in our columns and that Mr. Richardson and Dinger acted alone (not really "alone," because they were actually working together, but we're not sure what other word to substitute here and still convey the same meaning). Inaccurate reporting is something the Post takes very seriously, especially when it is noticed.
